The Chungyang-Gun in Southern Chungcheong Province asked if it could disclose  video data that the Chungyang Gun owns based on the Art.18(2) and (3) of Personal Information Protection Act to help police or the person who lost items to find his/her lost items.

○ Resolution

The Chungyang-Gun in Southern Chungcheong Province can NOT provide police nor the person who lost items with the video data of a person who acquired the item without having the person captured in the video masked or blurred. As the camera was being under operation solely for the secuirty purpose, the Chungyang-Gun cannot rely on the Art.18 (2) and (3) of Personal Information Protection Act to provide the video data for such above reason.
